Luke is a great party member (I'd say the worst in the long run is actually Jade, with Anise being worse for the time being), but Guy just happens to be better than him in nearly every way. Luke just takes some getting used to and suffers earlygame from having to make do with dogshit like Raging Blast.

But I will say party's with him tend to slog through boss fights, especially the later ones.

My issue with Luke's combat is everything jusy feels sluggish and gets easily kinda stunned out of combos. Add in that the other pure melee option (Guy) is just better in every way and he just loses any sort of role he can fill (which is basically just power hitter/self healer). Jade and Ansie at least fill in the niche roles. Like I can't think of another mc that gets as outclassed by the rest of the cast as much as Luke even with the came catering more towards melee via ad skills.

This is all from a combat standpoint btw, character building/story wise I love Luke and Abyss in general.
