I love this show so much but it makes me so sad. I want more like it, I want more of this tone, this quality. I love the hope in the hopelessness and the fact that it's wrapped in a scifi world that's so thoroughly realized at this point.

I'm definitely gonna have to watch Rogue One once this is done and I'm even considering watching the OT for the first time just to see this all pay off. But I'm just worried that it won't hold a candle in terms of quality writing and acting.

It's written, acted and filmed so much better than the other Disney+ shows. They are fully using the medium of television to enhance the show. Each episode is a story in itself that also builds towards the overall arc. It isn't just an 8-12 hour long movie where the episode breaks feel arbitrary. It has creative cinematography and dynamic lighting that makes the show look so much better than its contemporary that look like they are shot to be vertically cropped into a TikTok. And the acting and writing are made with the assumption that the viewer is fully watching the show, not having it be background noise while they are on a phone.

Basically, Andor is good not because it's darker and more serious Star Wars it's good because it does all the things that other prestige shows do of any genre do, while also being a Star Wars show. I just want more of that. I don't care if it's a comedy, a space adventure, a detective drama or whatever.
