Yes, but when at what happened with Riley. They spent time together before they were going to die. Joel and Tess had time to make a decision about what to do. The one we saw get offed in Jackson asked for that, the other person didn't didn't just shoot them instantly unless they were actively being torn apart. Especially in a life or death situation you still haven't escaped from. It just wasn't time to consider killing Ellie, even if she knew she'd have to. Ellie still had time, Ellie still had usefulness, Ellie wouldn't be dangerous for quite a while and Dina still needed her at that point. Sure, could be she was giving up herself and was going to take herself out after, but there wasn't much indication of that. It just didn't make sense for her to turn on Ellie so quickly in that situation, imo anyway.

True, but then is the same girl who was literally ready to blow her head off just moments ago. So she goes from full 100% Ellie has to die mode, to full on Ellie is absolutely completely fine on a quick spot check. Reminds me of that scene from Pitch Black "Looks clear." Then a monster jumps out, and they ask what it looks like and get a "looks clear." Dina just swings completely from one extreme to the other in like 30 seconds. It just didn't feel like a natural reaction to either situation to me.

That's what I'm saying. It took practically nothing to convince Dina that there was no danger whatsoever. She just looks at it for a few seconds and decides it's fine to swap fluids. I get that she was excited to have survived and to learn that Ellie would live, but like, that just wasn't the place for that.

I enjoyed that Ellie got bit protecting Dina, I thought was a nice way to show her... But it feels like everything that followed was a weird fanfic version of the actual characters. It all felt out character and rushed to the conclusion that it wanted to show.

Anyway, rant over.
I agree with you. The way Ellie and Riley were portrayed after becoming infected seemed like the more natural way to react to learning about someone you love getting infected. Even the way Joel reacted to Tess worked. It seemed strange to me that Dina was like fuck you, I'm going to shoot your ass.

I thought this episode started off hot and Jeffrey Wright's scene was cool. The TV station scene was awesome. I kinda wish Ellie or Dina used a glass bottle in the subway to lure the infected to the group because that's what I did in the game, but that scene was good too.

The episode was about a 9/10 for me, but the last moments of the show kinda dropped it for me to about an 8/10.

I liked how the game version handled that scene after the subway. I liked that Dina was more caring and trying to help Ellie after thinking she was infected. I liked that Ellie was upset with Dina after learning she's pregnant, thinking she's putting the baby in danger. I liked that there was some jealousy between Ellie and Jesse after learning about the baby. I think another positive aspect about the game was that Ellie seemed more focused about getting her revenge. In the TV show she's like wait... I'm going to be a dad just a short while after learning Dina likes her then it felt like she forgot why she was there and she was like oh yeah... revenge for killing Joel.
