Sure, to a degree, which is also why I find Ellie's response to Dina's actions dumb too. Look at Joel and Tess, even when it was clear she had been infected they still took time to decide on what to do and she used her remaining time to help them excape. But, while I don't think it fits with Dina's character at all, it wasn't an unreasonable action and Ellie had to know that was a possibility.

And the 30 seconds thing was about how long she actually checked Ellie out, not how long she slept. I assume it was a couple of hours too, but it was still night at that point so it couldn't have been more than a few. Too few imo for a quick once over to clear things up like it did and have Dina sleep as the little spoon to someone freshly bitten. Up till then, Dina had been the level headed one who made rational decisions, but that particular set of decisions didn't feel like they fit with anything we've seen of her character so far.
