My concern is the Australian public can be rather low IQ and they might vote in a far right conservative because the center-left party ran a dumb referendum a few years back, and said conservative Peter Dutton will, well I was going to say "sell us out to America's Fascists" but that would imply we're getting something in return. He'll gift the entire nation and its remaining resources to Trump for no reason other than a small kickback when he leaves office (just like Scott "Scummo" Morrison did with fucking AUKUS).

I'd normally love to say "go suck a kangaroos dick you fascist Nazi c***s" but I have less than zero faith in Australians, and frankly if Dutton is elected I don't see Australia surviving past 2040 when climate change kicks into high gear (heavily reliant on importing food. Would be a shame if the nation had zero industry and exports to be able to pay for it in a world that can only feed 3-4 billion people).

I'd like to think Dutton doesn't have a chance at the election. The libs in general seem to be in a bit of disarray. They don't have the big charismatic leader.

As you said though, the general public can be quite dumb. I wasn't surprised by The Voice vote going the way it did. Hell, last federal election i was half expecting Scomo to get back in power.

Say what you want about him, Scomo had some kind of "aura" around him. Even if he did put his foot in his mouth a lot and makes a complete ass of himself.

I can feel the swing coming, I just hope it is like a lot of foreigners say about US/UK/Aust relationship in that they all follow each other. With the UK being 5 years behind and Australia being 10 years behind. I hope that isn't true in this case.

At least we won't see Overlord Clive getting into power, no matter how hard he tries haha
