You don't need to turn every democrat. You only need to turn like, 3. Because the GOP is a death Cult, they'll always fall in line, and take up like, bare minimum 48/100 Senate seats. So they'll basically always be able to shut down anything progressive from happening, and if they don't have the numbers they only need like, 2 dems to turncoat and vote against the progressive thing.

The problem is that the Democrats are a huge mismatch of people who actually want to improve things, and stupid corpo-consultant types who are Democrats entirely because it is the beneficial thing to do at the moment, and are completely subservient to the exact same big money the republicans have completely bowed down to. The latter group doesn't care about doing anything productive, and are the group that is constantly caving in to the Right. But because the system is broken, these people are also predominantly the old fossils that are leading the Democratic Party, and so have a ton of power to stop anything worthwhile happening.

Its not to say its impossible for Dems to do anything progressive, but there's just a much more powerful force pushing them to basically do little and let things get worse, but quietly.
