So their issue with DEI was never about wanting to hjire people based on their merit or talent.
It was always about not wanting to hire minorities.

Yes we already all knew that, but there were right wingers trying to convince us that minorites would get hired regardless of DEI if they had Skill, but of course, with this happening it's obvious that they want to go back to hiring only white people for the good high paying jobs, and leave the shitty minimum wage, hard labor jobs for the minorities.

DEI was always there to right the wrong and rebalance the scales so that Minorites would have an opportunity they would otherwise never have or get , and not because thye are not skilled, but because racist bigots in charge only want to hire white people for the good jobs, and force minorities towards the crappy jobs.

In fact, I am sure many bigots would rather hire a less skilled person over a minority.
