And for once, we get to see parts of it rather than just hearing about it through recorded spheres which was a very nice touch. We get to see a younger, inexperienced Auron and how he became the 'legendary guardian' that he is revered as. Of course the flashbacks are nice too. It gives more depth to his character. Auron is a bit of a hardass, but a complete badass for sure. Playing through the game for a second time though brings a lot of new light to everything he does and says. Especially given the twist. Auron being dead all along was a nice touch, and one that didn't feel forced. And when he is sent in the end, brings a tear to my eye every time. And the fact he attacked Lady Yunalesca? Yeah, that's why people like him. Why wouldn't you? Auron is the most popular character from Final Fantasy X, and the most popular character of the PS2 era. Nobody listed him as their favorite, but he was usually pretty high up there for most.
