He got a masters of science degree, makes $100k a year in a tough job is very intelligent and dignified. People in here are ignorant. Good for your friend and everything but you should consider that for some people, its the exact opposite of being ignorant that makes them not want an addict as a partner. Its lived experience. I grew up surrounded by addicts and the one thing you very quickly learn is that even when they get clean, theyre still an addict and they always will be. Ive seen too many people get their shit together only to relapse hard. Ive lost people Ive cared about to addiction after they seemed to have kicked their habit.
