El_Marsh 10/13/24 10:57:18 PM #309: | By dugout, do you mean the bullpen? Most pitchers that regularly come out of the bullpen are capable of pitching 3-4 times a week. It's not nearly the issue that you seem to think it is. The only issue that it poses in the playoffs are when teams convert their 4th and 5th starters to the bullpen. Those guys aren't going to be used as frequently because they're not conditioned for it. Regular relievers though, yeah, they're good. Also, you seem to presume that every game is going to have the starter removed early. If a guy is doing what he's expected to and only gives up like a lone early run and then proceeds to lock in, he's not coming out until he's tired. That still holds true. I don't think it's some great conspiracy of analytics that if a starter is getting knocked around in the 3rd inning of the LCS, yanking him before it gets worse is the better option for the team if they want to come back and win it. --- http://i.imgur.com/0APl48O.gifv ...
