There is barely any difference in their rate of change over the last 13 years. The only kind of interesting difference is that Democrats seem to have become more ideologically similar while Republicans seem to have become more ideologically diverse. But that has happened because the rightmost opinions have become more common, not an overall widening. The modal Republican value went from 5 to 8 in that time while the mode for Democrats has gone from 3 to 2 in other words this is actually showing a pretty significant rightwards shift for Musks guys. He cant even interpret this simple data. I think they are just looking at the median lines and taking that to mean "republicans went from a 6 to a 6.5, we stayed the same! Democrats went from a 5 to a 2, they are radicalized!"
