| shadow_dreamer 09/26/24 11:30:32 PM #47: | I only had one bad adjunct professor, but he only taught the real tangential classes my degree path required (an engineering economics class, an engineering ethics class, and a base statistics class). He was teaching as part of a program to get his PHD after working in the field for ~20 years. For the first two classes it didn't really matter because they were basically jokes anyway, but the statistics class was terrible. He did not know the material, so there was a 50% chance that if you asked him a question during class he would pull out the actual "Statistics for Dummies" book, putz around trying to find the answer for 5 minutes, and then say that he would have to get back to you next class, and that never happened. The final for the statistics class was first thing in the morning the day we had our master thesis presentations, so basically no one had any sleep and had to drag ourselves to the test. When I handed him my final he told me that he had already decided everyone's grade and I had an A. He had a couple of interesting stories from the field, but as a teacher he was just terrible. ...
