the bonding scenes themselves are fine. the problem is the limitation on seeing all of the scenes in a single playthrough which hides what should be important individual character development from some players, so the scenes themselves get nerfed. the ensemble cast barely gets to breathe in the main story, and in half the times you'd get to see them as individual characters, they're still suffocated. Ultimately, their biggest impact is often as emphasis that Cold Steel is not about the party; it's the Rean show.
