Sure, but again, you have to recognize cycles before they happen. This moves the public discourse needle only in distractionary (amendment debate) or harmful (pro-Gaza = anti-American) ways to the movement.

It's an idiotic unforced error stemming from admittedly legitimate frustration.

You have a zero percent chance of stopping people from protesting. What you have to recognize is that there are things the democratic party can control and things they can't. The media is going to put forward an anti-Democrat line no matter what. Protestors are going to protest injustices no matter what.

If both parties take the same line, that the protestors are wrong and bad and that Israel rules, the only one that actually wins from that is the Republicans, because they are seen as the more "pro-Israel" party and always will be, and the Democrats just conceded that they are actually correct and that genocide is fine and cool, and the only difference is that Democrats are more waffle-y about their support of Israel, even though both parties admit that the right thing to do is to 100% support Israel. There is no winning the race to the bottom against the Republicans on issues.
