You can't rationalize away magical thinking. I don't know why people keep not getting this. Did Richard Dawkins make everyone atheist by showing his superior logic? No, he just sold books to people who already agreed with him. People who believe in magic believe in magic because that's how they view the world. It isn't that no one bothered to tell them it isn't rational or logical. Did anyone need to tell you ghosts aren't real?

Exactly. I know a woman who watches all those crappy ghost shows and she regularly shows me clips and goes "Well then how do you explain this? Huh? Huh?".
Despite me explaining numerous times she's watching a TV show, not a documentary. Even asked her once "Why do you think it is that all of these ghost hunter types never have a single episode where they manage to find absolutely nothing?" And she thinks it's because they only visit actual haunted places obviously.
