yeah if that happens then the price displayed to the customer was incorrect and the business just committed a crime, in Australia anyway. In America it would probably be celebrated just like how they can advertise incorrect prices and blame it on different taxes in different states or something Or, in the real world, the customer usually notices the price discrepancy, and the cashier sends them to customer service, where for the majority of businesses, the price that was listed on the shelf is respected (And the File Maintenance clerk is screamed at by upper management for having missed that one particular tag because the part-timer he asked to do that aisle instead threw all their tags into a bag and hid it behind a shelf and played on their phone for their shift.
