Well, if he had stayed on task and finished his books, there would have been a better road map to adapt. People always say this but D&D had a ton of book material left to adapt that they chose not to. Also, he chose poorly when choosing who to adapt his book series. D&D hated the fantasy parts of his series, and tossed them out. Most definitely.
