Topic	Movies everyone seems to hate, but you love

I wouldn't go so far as to say I love The Phantom Menace, but I definitely view it more favorably than most of the internet, and I enjoy it more than the other prequels by a country mile. I have some warm nostalgic fuzzies over it being one of the first big CGI spectacles, and I still enjoy watching the pod race and Duel of the Fates. The flaws are obvious and I wouldn't put any effort into defending them, but they never irked me as much as they did other people (notably Jar-Jar - he was more irritating than not, but he certainly didn't 'rape my childhood' or any of that nonsense). By contrast, AotC just plain bores me to tears on top of being thoroughly awful. I put a lot of misplaced faith in RotS to stick the landing for the trilogy overall, and it actively pissed me off with how badly it missed the landing on pretty much all of its big moments, to the point where I still hold a grudge against it (didn't help that it kicked off that wave of mid-00's disappointing threequels, soon to be followed by X-Men 3, Spider-Man 3, and Pirates of the Caribbean 3). I genuinely enjoy all three of them, but Id say that Revenge of the Sith is my fave. Having said that, I do give props to Phantom Menace for feeling the most like the classic Star Wars.
