You ever figure out why your half sister had a worse relationship with him? Yeah. He got her mom pregnant when she was in college and he walked out on her. Her mom resented him for this, rightfully so, and I'm guessing her mom took the opposite approach that my mom did and told her the full story. So she always resented him. Her mom died at some point before my dad was sick, but she wouldn't even let him go to the funeral. At some point, I need to reach out to her to get some kind of relationship going. I have this (likely) weird and stupid fear that she was see too much of my dad in me and resent me as well. At the very least, we're going to have to make a decision about what is going to happen with our grandparents' house. Our aunts and uncles have legal ownership of it at the moment and a cousin of ours is living there... But the decision is eventually going to fall to us.
