And same with Xion. Ventus heart was fractured by Master Xehanort into Light and Dark(Vanitus). This broke Ventus and Sora as a newborn shared his heart with Ventus to keep him alive. later when beaten at the end of BBS, Ventus retreated into Soras heart.
