if you remember a lot of the drake so soft memes stopped around then, partially because he had dropped 2 of his best projects back to back around that time, partially his relationship with future.

re reading this I noticed I contradict myself with a term street cred.

Im kind of using it as both a term for his respect among his peers, and his respect among the culture.

After his battle with meek, drake has to carry the ghost writing allegations with him forever and it really fucks with his credibility as an artist.

But beating someone in a beef like that gave drake the opportunity to get more respect around the culture itself, and shed the soft label he had, and he used future to cement that.

Drake was pretty bulletproof until the pusha t situation brought him back down a peg (that and his music suffering)
