I'd say forgiveness shouldn't be off the table and do agree with second chances, but not every situation requires it.

After all, denying forgiveness at most means you just cut one out of your life, but without constantly having hateful thoughts about them and the like.

I just think with political climate these days, it's very unlikely for some kinds of people to ever actually change anymore. That ship has sailed.

Additionally while I do again think forgiveness can be good on a case by case basis, the person who does wrong shouldn't change for the sake of forgiveness.

I do think a person who renounces say bigotry may or may not merit a second chance. But if one hints to or outright state that they changed for the sake of being forgiven? Yeah I wouldn't blame anyone for being skeptical.
