Yes, but he was raised almost entirely by his at least middle class White Jewish Mother in Canada, where he only visited his black side of the family on summer vacation at the most.

Its an extremely strong criticism of both drake as an artist/musically and how positions himself, around black culture and black Americans specifically.

at almost every step of his career Drake has noth idealized an black rap artist or attached himself to a movement to give himself credibility he doesnt naturally have.

Early in his career, he wanted to be a Joe budden Kanye fusions, and repped Virginia.

Right as he started to blow up, he was hanging in Houston and paired himself with lil Wayne.

After the meek mill diss and his street credibility was ruined he attached himself to future and ATL street music.

TLDR:

its a well know fact to long term fans, drake has some level of an identity crisis, which is actually pretty common in biracial people
