When a corporation is slowly destroying something and people are pissed, going "What should the corporation do? Not monetize everything for the benefit of their shareholders?" is kind of a stupid argument .

And maybe the person who is friends with a bunch of unhinged lunatics that think they are personally responsible for destroying the website should not be making it.

You need a better argument in support of the enshittification of the Internet than "Corporations have a responsibility to maximize profit"

What you're doing is akin to telling people gentrified out of an area that they should be excited about all the cafes and malls that will be making money when they are built.
