Hard to believe a guy as smart as he was fell for snake oil BS and died Becuase of it. I wonder if when he finally realized he made a mistake and admitted he was wrong. That's the thing, he wasn't "understanding of general dynamics and relations of things" smart, he was just brilliant in one specific way. The iMac was successful almost in spite of his designs as much as it was because of them: The motherboard has a bunch of entirely arbitrary design choices that could generously be described as a misguided attempt at feng shui.
