right, and this makes it harder to successfully steal. without getting into the bugs, i think the question to ask is whether or not the experience through the game ever goes off of the balance rails, and i think ff6 kinda has no issue with it doing that. it wants you to beat it. it hands over ways to solve it. and that's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but you get a real sense of what it means when you compare on-the-rails segments like most of the world of balance and the start of the world of ruin, where the difficulty curve is still sort-of a thing, to like, most of the world of ruin. --- https://imgur.com/a7zbPmp.gif ...
