Not to mention the technical push forward with CG and the way the game was truly marketed out the wazoo. Good pick. I considered it but opted for MGS1 instead. I was thinking mostly in terms of story, but you're right, the RPG genre took off in its wake way harder than stealth games did. Though you might argue the cinematic thing is even bigger than RPG mechanics.
