You kind of answered the first part, which is that you were sending the message to try and confirm yourself. Honestly I thought if you answered this way it would make you scummier, so.... congrats I guess. Its just the kind of "Confirmable" that scum would get. I do have no doubts that you would want to have fun with the role as town. I guess if your role was exactly how its described then you would probably do what you did, so I'm surprised you arent mad about having a shitty basically vanilla role again if so. What makes it confirmable in your eyes?

after lopen basically insisted i needed to die today i figured i'd need to claim anyway so might as well have some fun with it. i knew someone would argue the role could be scum, didn't think it'd be you though.

it's confirmable in the sense that the host sends a message directly written by me, and that he explicitly says my flavor (Mr. Spell).

if i wanted to, i could encode something that's only solveable with a key I divulge later if it was ever up for debate. hell, i could even encode dead man's switch type of messages too (using, for example, the number of words in my role PM as a key) such that it's only solvable in the event of my death.

And frankly, I don't consider myself to be the kind of person that would get "mad at having a shitty basically vanilla role" anyway. The only time time I can remember that coming up was in the Dota 2 mafia when I started out as a vanilla and had to spend 500 gold to get the role that ctes started with (lol). But honestly, I've yet to reach the point where I actually think it's just like, a neat vanilla role where I can share my thoughts in a last will before I die or troll people with funny messages at night.

Given that we've seen real vanillas drop I've always been under the assumption that there's something that interacts with my role - some way for people to give me information I could share out anonymously, perhaps. Maybe an item out of Ken's wardrobe, maybe Ulti's Mason Recruiter and I could share out Kirby's cop scans, maybe something yet unrevealed! Maybe I'm just supposed to proselytize the cult of the Claw!
