I never played the original so everything is completely fresh. But it's like a better version of Dead Space.

Only complaint is that the first real fight at the start is nothing like the rest of the game. Like you get thrown into a horde of enemies without nearly enough resources to kill everything so you have to just run around feeling powerless, trying desperately running from this chainsaw fuck who takes like no dmg from your one weapon, feels like survival horror shit. But the rest of the game is basically an action game where to get plenty of ammo to kill everything.
