Some people see this as a positive thing too. I'll never understand it.

I kind of get it, but it doesn't make me any happier. You know how people especially cynical minded will claim everyone is like that?

Maybe some do have that low of an opinion of others and I might feel such when not in the best mood. But some I believe just claim such so they can do as they please without feeling guilt.

I mean as much as being nice doesn't always feel rewarding (well especially for someone who feigns it), kindness requires no reason or excuse while being like Trump is really complicating.

People expect you to have a reason for being an ass, but no amount of hardship or disadvantage can really handwave such behavior when people of similar or worse scenarios can still turn out decent.
