Literally yesterday I went to someone's house to fix something for them and the first thing that happens when I get inside the front door is hear them yell from upstairs to not worry about the dog, "she's just friendly and excited to meet you" before said dog comes sprinting down the stairs and gets all up on me.

After the owner gets down she asks if the dog should be kept somewhere while I'm working and I go "yeah, I'd like her out of the way for a bit, I shouldn't be long" and the owner gives me a disappointed look and brings the dog and me upstairs, closes the dog in the main bedroom, then shows me down the hall to the room I'll be working in.

Not even 2 minutes later she's let the dog out and I've had to hold the door closed myself to keep said dog from coming in and fucking up what I'd done because dog is nice and friendly.

This is the definition of a shit owner. I have basset hounds, which are some of the friendliest dogs ever. But they like to lick and jump, so anytime Im having a home repair, they are out of the way the entire time.

I dont even ask the person doing the repair if they want them put up. Its automatic. Sorry that happened, but I would like to think most dog owners know better. Sucks this one didnt.
