Believe me, I've been there. You're doing better than you think. And don't believe everything your kid's mother tells you, because her hormones have changed, and isn't the same person she was before the kid.

I'll argue that the kid is happy with me, and the wife will say "what does she know? She's 3."

You're still in the picture which is more than a lot of the deadbeat dads can say. And at the end of the day, just being there is all a kid really wants.
