It would also suggest you dont own your home outright or anything like that. If thats the case, I dont see how $250k would set you up for instant retirement. It wouldnt set me up for it and I live somewhere dirt cheap. Assuming youre somewhere around the average age for these boards, and you expect to live to the average life expectancy , that averages out to about 6k per year, which is not enough to live on, especially if you still need to pay for housing. You could, of course, invest it, but an investment of 250k is unlikely to reliably give you a substantial enough return to live on. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
