My life at that time didn't involve the Internet at all nor anyone around me did either. I didn't start regularly using the Internet until 1999. Besides even in todays modern era I really don't get things spoiled. My Internet usage is mild and even on gamefaqs I just avoid topics about the game I don't want to know anything about.
