preferring a character is not the same as iconic or recognizable. Saying that Lara croft is more recognizable than Mario to random people is just not true Oh really???!! Excuse me whilst I laugh at that. Where do you think the name of that road came from? Oh yeah Derby council needed a name for their new ring road, drew up a shortlist, asked the people of Derby to vote and 89% voted for Lara Croft Way! Yeah the general population of Derby knew who she was! A poll was taken many years ago in Britain and the top 3 most known game characters known to non-gamers and the general public were 1. Lara, 2. Sonic, 3. Mario Companies have used Lara to advertise products that had nothing to do with her games. Oh no Lara is very well known to the general public here in Britain. --- Hi ...
