I'm going to post recommendations in the wellness topic but avoid Wal Mart bikes if you can. Most important is the surface you're gonna be riding on. Road bikes are nice but hybrids or gravel bikes may be worthy of your consideration if you plan to hit trails.

This is what I ride on the road. Most road bikers don't like the front suspension but I have to ride in the grass and gutters and it helps me a lot

The post about stationary bikes is on point. I have a good road bike but I only did that after riding on a stationary for a long time. Stationary biking is boring without proper immersion so you'll want to get out eventually
