I was on Ambien for a short time, and the worst thing I did was I had to call in sick for work because I couldnt remember anything I did five minutes prior. I had no memory that I brushed my teeth or put on my shoes and the only way I knew is because my mouth tasted minty and I looked down and saw my shoes on my feet. That was the last time I ever took it.

Couple of years ago I was having trouble sleeping and my doctor prescribed sleep meds, don't remember if it was Ambien, but he recommended I hide my car keys and put stuff in front of my door so I couldn't open it. I ended up only taking it a few times. A little insomnia is better than having to lock my apartment down like fort knox.
