People who have been on this website for over 20 years (such as myself) have witnessed this website turn from a informative game website that gamers can communicate with things outside of video gaming turn into a soapbox of people's ideologies that people get modded for saying things that doesn't fall in line with certain beliefs. I'm a strong believer in free speech, and I think people should be able to speak their mind and if people disagree have a constructive conversation. Sadly, that can never exist on the internet, and things like politics should be left to in person talks. Most people that respond with "Shut the fuck up" really don't have the mental capacity to properly express their thoughts in person.

I dunno about yall but it's rather easy for me to ignore subjects I don't want to engage in even if I do have my own opinions on the subject. You don't need to input your opinions on everything and even if you have to you should come off modest and reasonable about it. We do have platforms such as CE to talk about things outside of video games but I feel like one shouldn't use it as the ULTIMATE platform for it.

For example, I make a lot of topics about the NBA and basketball but if I wanted to talk about the real details and nuances of the game today then I wouldn't have it here.
