I had to look up the definition of a microaggression, and it really is a terrible term. Consider the following sentence from this lady.

I'm not saying that. That is not what I'm saying. I am saying that sometimes it is hard to work with white people because they think that something may be okay, but it was really a microaggression.

If it was any other race, this would be a microaggression, making a negative remark on somebodies abilities based on skin tone. But since the definition is only about making negative comments towards minority groups, this is OK.

I'm a firm believer of holding myself to the same standards I hold others and this kind of thing really bothers me, the idea that sweeping generalizations can be considered right or wrong depending on who is saying them (or the target of the idea).
