It's because conservatives don't bother to research or fact check anything. Look at how so many Republicans vote against something that still passes and still take credit for it. Conservatives just accept the word of every Republican politician, right wing talking head, and any sort of conservative tweet or other internet message as fact.

Then again, even if they do fact check anything, they'll just think it's "liberal lies" or whatever. These people are brainwashed and there needs to be something done to deprogram these cultists.
