Topic | It was 10 years too late for Usher to headline a halftime show |

I already joked about this but Yeah was literally the song I know. I just feel like he wasn't that popular but I was not into the hip hop scene either. Usher was huge back in the day. Confessions was certified 14x Platinum, and this was after Napster was a thing. Incredible posted... He fell off when he changed his name to a symbol in the 90s. Actually, by the time he headlined the halftime show in 2007, he hadn't even put out a decent album in literally 20 years. Everything he released after Sign of the Times is lackluster save for a few songs. I may be biased, but just off the top of my head, Diamonds & Pearls and The Gold Experience were both top tier albums released after Sign O The Times. And Musicology was seen as a comeback album for him (even though it's sales weren't really due to the album itself) Prince's main appeal at the time was his concerts; his ticket sales during that time is why Musicology was certified multi-platinum. It was kinda like Iron Maiden; no one goes to their shows to see them perform songs from Book of Souls or Senjutsu, they go to see them perform the songs from their peak. You may not have enjoyed it, but you're clearly in the minority... --- "You need a hobby. I suggest sticking forks in your eyes."-DJosef https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093694753981 ...
