Let's pretend for a second that this isn't just a prelude to ethnic cleansing.

You think food prices are high now? If you were to deport every undocumented person in this country you would collapse the entire meat packing/slaughterhouse and agricultural industries in this country. The percentage of farm laborers that are undocumented is right around 50%. Slaughterhouse and meat packing aren't quite that high but around 30% or so last time I checked.

These are physically hard, filthy, and just generally miserable jobs. These industries love undocumented laborers because the pay is trash and when they threaten the employers with OSHA, the EPA, or unionization they simply call ICE who stages a raid and ends the problem.

Whether the chuds like it or not, these people are deeply tied to our community and economy in ways that cannot just be fixed overnight. But sure, go ahead and deport them. Enjoy your completely collapsed economy.

That's of course not to defend the way these people in those industries are treated. Everyone deserves a safe job with union representation and benefits. It's just that most people in this country don't understand the deeply exploitative relationship between agriculture and migrant labor and what role it plays in the US economy, but they've find out real quick if the GOP gets it's way.
Isnt that the plot of the movie The Day Without a Mexican?
