Did the combined form resist everything in the original game? I don't remember. Probably not, because as you said, it encourages you to use Theurgy. I was more concerned with taking them both down separated at the same time. I wasn't sure if they restore each other immediately on one being defeated or if they still have to wait for their turn to naturally come up. Didn't wanna chance it. Fortunately, Fuuka got her Theurgy just in time so I was able to finish them both off with Akihiko's Mazio, despite Justice resisting all magic. --- The Bagel made me do it.
