We cannot accept former President Trump's claim that a President has unbounded authority to commit crimes that would neutralize the most fundamental check on executive power - the recognition and implementation of election results. Nor can we sanction his apparent contention that the Executive has carte blanche to violate the rights of individual citizens to vote and to have their votes count. Like, I understand perfectly why people fast results with these cases, or that most of Trump's bullshit should be met with a reaction of "I'm not even going to dignify that with a response because it's so obviously wrong / corrupt." But it's worth the wait to give our legal system the time to craft an iron-clad ruling such as this that gives the GOP and / or bad faith actors virtually no room to 'ackshually' their way around the issue. --- Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read. ...
