It's not just Sookie. It's been more than a decade since I last watched it, but IIRC the diner owner turns out to be a shapeshifter, Tara becomes a vampire, Lafayette's bf turns out to be a brujo, Lafayette is already a medium, but gets possessed or something.
I hadn't slept when typing up that post. When I said "supernatural in origin", I meant to say "supernatural in nature". It's sort of the same case with Buffy where by the end of the series the only human left is Xander. Same goes for Angel.
