A storm being stronger wouldn't matter since its already going to destroy everything. Category 5 does not make any concession that the land might be substantially destroyed by the hurricane, only the houses. Heck, Category 5 specifically calls for pretty light house damage as the benchmark, something that is laughably pathetic to projected events.
