iirc, the Devil Gene sustained him enough for the G Corp to heal him, and he's not a clone
Most of his body was destroyed though IIRC so even if he went dormant instead of being completely dead it was more of the Devil Gene that took over and most of what is there now is made from technology. Either way he stopped being his regular self long ago.
