plus I go out of my way to pay use tax on anything that I buy online that doesn't charge me sales tax, like you are supposed to do. I'd just prefer amazon and everywhere would charge me a sales tax so I wouldn't have to bother with use tax.


When I lived in New York, Amazon did charge sales tax, as did Steam/Xbox/PSN/Nintendo online stores. So I always paid $0 on use tax because **** Bloomberg and his extortionist tactics.

But when I moved to Massachusetts, I started paying use tax (the average, "I don't want to itemize my purchases" rate) because Amazon doesn't charge sales tax here. Some (not all) other online retailers still do charge sales tax, but I buy so much from Amazon that the average rate is lower than just what I should be paying from tax there.
