I've had friends whip out their N64 plenty of times during casual get-togethers, with and without "the ladies." As I mentioned already, drunk 64 gaming can be incredible. I mean, you wouldn't bring it out for a frat party, but that just begs the question why you'd be hanging out with insecure losers in the first place.
Plus, it's not a this-or-that situation. My PS3 and N64 are the two systems I have hooked up right now, in fact, just for this kind of dilemma!
Got a reply with actual substance? Compare N64's library with any successful console's. Hell, the Dreamcast, which failed quite badly, had a more diverse library.
That word "diverse" you're missing sort of misses the point. In the OP, I did two things you might have missed:
1) Argue that the N64's library is a quality-over-quantity situation, meaning that raw release numbers were besides the point.
2) Provide a semi-comprehensive list of genres and the strongest games the N64 has to offer in those respective genres.
You can take either of those apart and compare them to other systems.
