Alright so I did an unfancy test and now I'm convinced.

So when you first start a game and can move, there's a tree almost right in front of you. I thought "well if the stick makes your aim move slower, I should be able to set a metronome and prove it." So I set a metronome to click at quarter=120 or 2 clicks a second. The goal was to aim at the tree, then just hold right on the analog stick until I made a complete circle. I started counting as soon as I hit the analog stick on beat. If they all control the same, it should take the same amount of time to make this circle on all three consoles. I tested 360, PS2, and Wii, with Wii using a GC controller.

I found out my suspicions were correct. Doing a complete rotation (starting at the tree, ending right when your line of sight hits the tree again) my laser hit the tree on the down beat of 6 for Wii. So right at 5 seconds. For 360 it happened just after the down beat of 7, so just over 6 seconds. It takes the 360 slightly more than 1 second longer to make the same complete circle while aiming your gun than it does for the Wii. So that settles it in my mind - 360 version moves slower.

Interestingly enough, the PS2 results mimicked the 360 results. And analog range is not usually an issue on PS2 sticks. So that makes me think my initial theory about why this happens is wrong. All I know is that for whatever reason, the Wii version aiming moves faster than the PS2 or 360, which move at about the same pace. I'll see if I can test the GC version tomorrow. For now at least, I'll have to agree with the "Wii version still the best" sentiment. This could have something to do with the game being designed for a Gamecube controller and that being best suited, who knows.

It's kind of unfortunate, though. Game looks a lot better on 360 than any of the other consoles I own. Playing it on Wii looks ugly in comparison! Guess I can go reinstall the PC version and graphic mods.
